I found this in my local second-hand bookstore. It’s a cookbook from 1969, about “the menu of the American Black man, from slave days to the present”, featuring such wonders as Green Turtle Soup (which actually contains turtle) and Spider Corncake (which does not actually contain spiders). Some culinary history in there as well. I may do the recipe for honeyed yams. But I probably won’t.

My mum finally redecorated my old room. These are some of the posters that graced its walls, originally displayed 1990-2004 or thereabouts. The chronology is approximate. The lighting is poor.
